Constructions
I think of my constructions as painting with shape and color. The elements are shaped spontaneously with a bandsaw, sometimes without drawing. Sometimes a work begins from a chance juxtaposition of materials. The color is applied after, suggested by the nature of the assemblage to emphasize the interrelationships of the parts to the whole. The mood created by the piece is often inspired by jazz which I listen to while I work.
